true?

I heard recently that the reason for March Break is that this week is when many are depressed and suicidal. And I suppose that is why the Reading Week is when it is as well. 


I wonder how true that is. And if having a break at this time of the year helps the situation.

well, I'd say it helps except when the break is full of the stuff you didn't get to do earlier because of too much busyness or too much homework etc... Although, it is nice to have a week without regular classtime so that the work can get caught up on and you're freshened up for the home stretch.

I mentioned this in my prayer class on Saturday because we were talking about Lent and how in the church calendar, Lent is like spiritual downtime, spiritual detox, before a new season starts with Easter. Easter renews our joy, and before Easter we really do experience some of Christ's suffering as we do a 'spiritual detox' and as we go through tough psychological mindgames with ourselves about all the work we have to do/the sunshine we're missing/etc.
