NO PARKING!!!!!

So, I've been trying to think of analogy from the Christian life for this sign for a long time, but I haven't had any brilliant thoughts on it yet. I don't know why I have a facination with this sign...weirdness is the only explanation I offer:) Do you have any analogies to share for this lovely sign?

All I can think of is that we are aliens here on Earth and this is not our home. We shouldn't "park" our lives in this temporary place b/c God has a spot for us in Heaven... it will even have our names on it :)

hmm...that's good!

what is your name? I checked out your blog, but you still remain name-less:(

arrrrg
how incredibly disappointing!
I read your post, and at first I couldn't think of anything, and then I thought of this incredible analogy, and I was actually quite proud of myself. Imagine my surprise and horror, when I clicked to the comments to post it, and the unknown "tblog" had written the exact same thing I was planning to say.

sorry Kyle:) I guess you can console yourself with the fact that now I can be QUITE sure that the analogy is a good one, because TWO people have suggested it to me now!! :P

Yeah, I thought of the exact same thing.

Oh well, it is a good one.

Humm, I dunno. I think I'll purchase a parking pass for earth. I'm obviously supposed to be here, might as well enjoy my time!
Heaven is not my home, yet. I'd rather think of this like:
Don't park somewhere if you're not prepared to handle the consequences. Don't underestimate the power of God's snowplow and don't underestimate how much it will hurt when He pulverizes your pride into nothing because it's buried under a snowbank because you parked somewhere you shouldn't have. Also, it's a warning to keep moving, keep flexible, and keep willing to be shaped by God.

I thought of a few possibilities,
but they didn't really go anywhere.

Sorry, that was really lame.

Well, we could start here:

parking = slang for 'making out in a car'

I'm sure some life-lessons could spew forth from that.

thanks for all the suggestions and ideas:) I'll need to think on those now. Maybe post again about it in the future...!

Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.

Proverbs 4:27

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."

Isaiah 30:21
